- American Friends Service Committee
- One of the oldest peace and social justice organizations in the modern world. Founded as an opportunity for Quaker conscientious objectors in World War I to do humanitarian work, it won the Nobel Peace Prize for such work in 1947. Based in Philadelphia, it has projects throughout the world.

- First Nations Development Institute
- The Institute is a Native American nonprofit, the first non-federal program fully committed to culturally appropriate economic development in Indian Country. Their strategy coordinates local grass roots projects with national program and policy development to build capacity for self-reliant reservation economies. - Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing organization. Homeowners and volunteers build the houses under trained supervision, and the houses they build are sold at no profit, with no interest charged on the mortgage.
